We start analyzing and collecting data from the employee as soon as possible. When our relocation or immigration colleagues coordinate the BSN application, we know exactly when the BSN is available. At that point we submit the 30% application (if the remainder of the information is also complete) and wait for the decision from the Dutch tax authorities. On average, for a regular application it takes 4 to 6 weeks before the 30% ruling is issued. The 30% ruling can already be applied in the payroll in the meantime.
Yes, that may be possible. Of course, there are conditions that must be met as a minimum, such as the salary requirement for the 30% ruling. We are specialized in this and always conduct a brief investigation first, as it can vary from case to case. If our investigation shows that we think the employee may be entitled to the 30% ruling, we can prepare and submit the application. We are honest during our research and have a 95% success rate for the 30% applications submitted after research.
Exchanging a foreign driver’s license for a Dutch one is possible if the employee has the 30% ruling. This also applies to family members, who are registered at the same address with the Municipal Registry. Unfortunately, if the employee does not have the 30% ruling, this is not possible and a theory and driving test must be taken.
Various rules apply to processing the 30% ruling in payroll. For example, a cap on higher salaries is applicable from 1st of January 2024.
